Govt Announces Load Shedding Schedule During Eid ul Adha

According to a recent report, the federal government has stated that there would be no load shedding throughout the Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. To help with this decision, the Ministry of Energy requested statistics on electricity generation and consumption from distribution firms.

If the government can pull it off, it will bring respite to individuals who have been suffering from extended power disruptions in the middle of extreme heat. Power distribution providers have reported a 6,300-megawatt shortfall.

The current total demand for power is 26,900 megawatts, whereas the total generation is just 20,600 megawatts. The national system generates 7,900 megawatts of energy, with an additional 7,700 megawatts supplied by independent power producers.

However, it should be emphasized that nuclear power plant electricity output only reaches 3,130 megawatts, exacerbated by the current issue.
