Following special directions from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar, driver’s license offices across Punjab have streamlined the application procedure.
According to media reports, the agency has eliminated the file system from the process of issuing driving licenses. Applicants can now apply for a driver’s license by showing their National Identity Cards (NICs).
Additionally, the agency has permitted candidates to take driving exams in their personal vehicles. Several measures were performed as part of the paperless driving license issuing system to simplify and make it easier for candidates.
24 Hour Service
The Punjab Police Department announced the beginning of a 24-hour driving license service in six of the province’s most populated cities in February. Citizens will be able to receive licenses in as little as 24 hours if these locations are open after office hours.
Driving test centers would be created in the province’s six major towns, according to DIG Traffic: Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Sialkot. He further indicated that these facilities will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
