The ongoing Karachi Board’s Matric Annual Examination 2021 for students of Class IX has been hit by cheating and paper leaks. The recent, Class 9 Chemistry paper was sent to several students on WhatsApp by the cheating mafia before the examination.
This act has raised many questions about the authenticity and security of examination papers. The examination of class 9 chemistry papers was scheduled, and the mafia gathered these papers and distributed them through various groups, chats, and other social media handles before the commencement of the examination.
Moreover, the incident revealed a major lapse in the examination’s integrity as the exam’s regulators and backups, invigilators, and board observers in exam centers were unaware of it. The Board of Secondary Education in Karachi could have assured the students and ensured that the paper did not circulate until circulation on multiple platforms.
Such a job failure by the board is tantamount to a security agency preparing for an attack that happens, leaving one pondering if it was ethical. Furthermore, the lack of security work by the board saw the paper out on unknown platforms, tweeting ahead of the students.
The incident was one among others as online peddlers leaked papers, including mathematics and others, a short while before evaluations.
