When several people write for your WordPress site, you will need to change the author of an article from time to time. You may want to use an alias for multiple authors or assign an editor to an article instead of an editor.

WordPress’ Bulk actions The feature allows you to change settings for multiple posts simultaneously, including changing authors. Here are the steps to change the authors of multiple articles in bulk:

  1. Go to Posts All Posts.
  2. Optionally view more posts by clicking the Screen options menu and increase the Number of items per page count. By default, WordPress lists 20 posts on a single page.
  3. Select the publications whose authors you want to change by checking the box next to their titles. Alternatively, check the Title option in the first line to select all messages.

You can also change the author of various posts assigned to the same user. However, this involves changing the display name of the author instead of assigning another existing user.

  1. Go to Users → All users.
  2. Hover over the user and choose Edit.

How to Change Author Archive Slug in WordPress

When you create a new post in WordPress, the slug will be automatically generated based on the permalink settings.
