Why PTCL is Shutting Down Charji Services

With more than 25 cities across Pakistan, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has decided to discontinue offering Charji dongle services. The Charji dongle is being replaced by Ufone’s 4G Blaze device, offering faster speeds and enhanced reliability.

The reason given by PTCL officials for the end of Charji services is that PTCL’s Wireless Local Loop (WLL) license, which allowed them to run devices similar to Charji for 20 years, has expired. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) decided that WLL technology was outdated in 2004, so the license is now invalid.

Since Ufone’s 4G Blaze network offers more features, better reliability, and faster speeds than Charji, PTCL promotes it as the better option. In an announcement, an official from PTCL Group emphasized the company’s resolve to improve its customer telecom experience using the latest Ufone 4G Blaze technology.

Charji services would remain available to customers in Azad Jammu and Kashmir at all times. Visit your local joint shop using your Charji device to take advantage of a special discount offer on the new Ufone Blaze device.

Ufone Blaze 4G device is currently available at a 50% discount, with the price reduced by Rs. 5,500 to Rs. 2,750. The duration of this promotion remains unknown, so consumers are encouraged to grab the lower prices while they can.
