The PCB has recommended a schedule for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League taking into players’ availability, workload management, and logistical considerations. However, PSL 10 is likely to begin next year. The dates for PSL 10 would be 8th April to 20th May as per reports.
PCB has provided these dates to the franchise owners. It can be seen that the dates provided for PSL 10 will overlap with the schedule of the Indian Premier League. If PCB schedules PSL against the Indian Premier League IPL, it would be impossible to get the best foreign cricketers.
Several discussions have been live in a recent meeting to address these concerns and other critical matters. Some of the recommendations have been submitted to the Governing Council; they will meet through the PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
PCB will arrange for franchise teams to sign a top player in the next month or two, with financial backing from the PCB. PCB stakeholders, as well as team owners and officials, gathered in Lahore this week for a meeting, with some members participating through Zoom.
Effective workload management and logistical arrangements were top of the list of topics, as we aiming to run PSL 10 smoothly.
