The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) has established seven requirements for private-sector enterprises and employers seeking to hire foreign workers.
These terms were revealed in a video posted on MoHRE’s official Instagram account:
- The firm must have electronic permissions available.
- The hired person must be at least 18 years old.
- Compliance with necessary conditions is important in specialized professions.
- The worker’s occupation must be compatible with the company’s activities.
- The firm must have a current license.
- The company’s legally authorized representative must submit the recruiting request, and a work permit must be received.
- For the worker to be hired, there should be no current work permit.
The ministry provides 12 work permits for registered organizations, each tailored to the type and nature of the job. The 12 work permits are as follows:
- A work permit is required for hiring a foreign worker.
- Transferring a foreign worker between organizations requires a work permit.
- Residents who are sponsored by a family member may get a work visa.
- Temporary work permit issued for the purpose of hiring a worker for a certain project or duration.
- Work visa with a single goal of recruiting foreign employees for temporary occupations or specialized projects.
- Part-time work permit for recruiting employees on a part-time basis with fewer working hours.
- A juvenile permit is required for recruiting people aged 15 to 18.
- Student training and work permit for 15-year-old students already in the UAE.
- Employing UAE or GCC people requires a UAE/GCC national permit.
- Golden visa holders are permitted to hire employees with the UAE’s Golden Visa.
- A national trainee permit is required for training UAE citizens.
- Freelance visas are issued to self-sponsored foreigners who provide services or tasks in the UAE without the involvement of a specified employer or work contract.
