Oppo has pushed out another ColorOS 16 update, and it’s less about big new features and more about the little things that make everyday use feel a little different.
Fingerprint unlock has received some attention. New animations, new icon styles, and now you can mix them up, so your phone does not have to look like everyone else’s Oppo to unlock it.
The camera app has picked up two filters, Primrose and Bold B&W. Small additions, but if you shoot a lot and want a specific look without having to edit it later, it saves a step.
Contact posters have also changed in a way that actually makes sense. Instead of having to set it up before you assign it to someone and hope it looks right the next time they call you.
It’s pretty on-brand for how Oppo has been handling ColorOS 16 lately. Small updates, spread out rather than one big version drop. Earlier rounds this year brought AI Mind Pilot, AI Grouping, that sort of thing. Instead, it clearly leans towards personalization.
There are no exact rollout dates from Oppo on this, nor is there a confirmed device list. Given past updates, it will likely roll out in stages, with different devices getting it at different times depending on the region.
If you check your phone, go to Settings, then Software Update, it will appear there whenever it reaches you.
