Scotland Pakistan Scholarship for Young Women and Girls

The Scottish Government has launched the Scotland Pakistan Scholarship. This initiative aims to support the pursuit of undergraduate BS studies by Pakistani women at any Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized university across the country. The scholarship program, funded by the Scottish Government, also extends to Masters’s studies, thereby fostering academic excellence.

The British Council in Pakistan administers the scholarship scheme, ensuring a smooth process for both selected scholars and universities. The council coordinates with the recipients and academic institutions either directly or through nominated university focal persons. The application deadline for the Scotland Pakistan Scottish Government Scholarship is September 15, 2023, and the application process is managed by the British Council. Interested candidates can apply by filling out the application form available on the British Council website.

The Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls offer a comprehensive support package to the recipients. This includes tuition fees for eligible courses, coverage of university hostel costs if applicable, and bi-annual travel expenses between home and university for on-campus hostel residents.

The scholarship covers a four-year bachelor’s degree program at an HEC-recognized Pakistani university. The eligible subject areas for this scholarship opportunity include Education, Sustainable Energy, Food Security and Agriculture, and Health Sciences.

The scholarships are exclusively open to female applicants who meet certain criteria. These include being Pakistani nationals currently residing in Pakistan, pursuing a four-year bachelor’s degree in the specified subject areas, and possessing a confirmed admission offer from an HEC-recognized public university in Pakistan. The program particularly encourages young women with disabilities, from rural backgrounds, and minority groups to apply.

Applicants need to submit a complete application package, which includes a duly filled application form, scanned copy of CNIC, scanned transcripts, proof of admission and/or enrollment at the bachelor’s level, and a tuition fee form.
