Quetta Gladiators Reveals Retentions for PSL 9 Draft

Quetta Gladiators franchise has revealed its retentions for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 player draft. The team has opted to retain 8 core players across multiple categories.

In the Platinum category, explosive South African batsman Rilee Rossouw has been retained as the team’s prime player.

Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed will continue leading the Gladiators after being named the brand ambassador and retained in the Gold category.

Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been retained in the Diamond category alongside English openers Jason Roy and Will Smeed.

Fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain and mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed complete the Gold retentions.

Surprisingly, the Gladiators have released Mohammad Nawaz despite his long association with the franchise since PSL’s inaugural edition. The all-rounder is rumored to be on Karachi Kings’ retention radar for PSL 9.

With smart retentions focusing on T20 firepower and spin bowling, Quetta Gladiators seem to have a solid core group ahead of the draft.

Their retentions indicate the team’s strategy to plug gaps in the middle order and fast bowling departments.
