On Thursday, Nabeel Javed, a Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBoR) Punjab, presided over a meeting in the BoR committee room to examine the implementation of e-registration, also known as the Electronic Deed Registration System.
Authorities declared during the meeting that officers’ e-registration training would begin on April 28 in Lahore and would go through May 15 at all divisional headquarters in Punjab. All relevant officers from the districts will attend the seminar. It further announced that e-registration and property deed transfer will commence in Sahiwal on May 1.
According to the SMBoR, e-registration will provide users with many benefits. They will be able to apply for property registration through an e-registration gateway from the comfort of their own homes and obtain an online copy of their record.
Furthermore, the system’s openness will reduce the need for residents to visit multiple offices. Residents who want to buy or sell the property via e-registration must appear in front of a sub-registrar of the corresponding district or tehsil to record their remarks.
Individuals who obstruct citizens will also be monitored by the IT system. The e-registration site will allow BoR officials, commissioners, and deputy commissioners (DCs) to monitor sub-registrars daily, ensuring transparency.
Overall, the usage of e-registration will improve the property registration system while also providing people with convenience and comfort.
