Through this program, 8 million deserving families are being provided with 40% affordable items. Eligible families can purchase pulses, ghee, oil and flour from registered grocery stores at a reduced rate of 40 percent. Owners of registered grocery stores are also being given 10 percent commission.

Ehsaas Ration Subsidy Card Program is being launched to provide relief to lakhs of people across the country. Ehsaas Ration Subsidy Card Program started in Peshawar.

Under Prime Minister’s historic food aid initiative, special subsidy will be provided on flour, ghee and pulses. Eligible families will be able to purchase daily necessities like flour, oil, sugar and pulses at discounted rates from utility stores and retail stores (grocery stores). Small retail stores open in streets and neighborhoods will also provide this facility if they are registered and authorized for this system.

Beneficiaries will need a mobile phone number registered on their computerized National Identity Card which will be presented in front of certain stores where purchases will be made at subsidized rates.
