The popularity of Apple’s iPhones in Pakistan is on the rise, leading to a surge in prices across all models. This trend is not only affecting the latest devices but also older generation models such as the iPhone 12, which are witnessing a significant price hike due to increased demand.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has recently revised the tax values for various iPhone models, including the iPhone 13 series and the older iPhone 12 series. The specific taxes levied on these devices depend on their model and specifications.
For the iPhone 12 series, the tax rates have been set at Rs113,665 for the iPhone 12 and Rs134,825 for the iPhone 12 Pro Max when purchased with a passport. However, if these devices are bought using a CNIC, the tax rates increase to Rs137,682 for the iPhone 12 and Rs160,958 for the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
These taxes include Customs Duty, Regulatory Duty, Sales Tax, and Federal Excise Duty, all of which are imposed by Pakistani authorities on imported mobile phones. The increase in these taxes is directly proportional to the growing demand for iPhones in the country.
As the demand for iPhones continues to grow in Pakistan, consumers are advised to verify all rates and specifications with the respective service providers or vendors before making any purchases or taking any action based on the information presented. This will ensure that they are fully aware of the costs involved and can make informed decisions.
