The Pakistan Women’s team achieved a historic whitewash against South Africa in a three-match T20I series. The series held at the National Bank Cricket Arena, saw the Green Shirts secure a decisive 3-0 victory, marking a significant milestone in their cricketing journey.

The final and decisive victory came in the third T20I, where Pakistan managed to secure a narrow six-run win, thereby completing the series sweep. This victory was largely attributed to the impressive performances of the national bowlers, particularly Sadia Iqbal and Nashra Sundhu, who played pivotal roles in securing crucial wickets that tilted the balance in favor of Pakistan.

The batting side also showcased commendable performances, with Sidra Ameen and Bismah Maroof each scoring 39 runs, contributing to a strong total of 150 for five. However, the match-winning knock came from the skipper, Nida Dar, who scored a crucial 36 runs off 20 balls, featuring six boundaries. Her performance helped the team reach a defendable total, ultimately leading to their victory.

On the South African side, the Proteas faced regular wicket losses during their pursuit of a 151-run target. Despite this, opening batter Laura Wolvaardt managed to stay on the crease, scoring 72 runs off 54 balls including nine boundaries. However, her dismissal marked a pivotal turning point in the game, further tilting the balance in favor of Pakistan.

Following this historic win, the Women in Green are now set to play a three-match ODI series against the Laura Wolvaardt-led South African side, starting from September 8 in Karachi. This victory has undoubtedly boosted the morale of the Pakistani team, setting the stage for an exciting ODI series.
