Pakistan Railways has unveiled the Railway Automated Booking and Travel Assistance (RABTA) mobile application. The launch event was presided over by the Caretaker Railway Minister Shahid Ashraf Tarar, marking a new era in the digitalization of railway services in Pakistan.
The RABTA app is designed to be a travel companion, allowing users to book tickets, secure hotel accommodations, arrange taxi services, and order meals all through a single platform. This innovative approach aims to simplify and streamline the planning process for travelers, enabling them to organize their journeys from the comfort of their homes.
The application will support three trains, including the Greenline train that operates between Islamabad and Karachi, as well as two railcars that run the Lahore-Islamabad route. The ministry has expressed its commitment to expanding the app’s connectivity to include the remaining trains in the near future.
PR Secretary Mazhar Ali Shah took to social media to celebrate the launch, describing the RABTA app as an “Innovative platform to revolutionize the way you plan & experience your journey.” The sentiment was echoed by the PR spokesperson, who emphasized the convenience that the app is set to offer to passengers.
The introduction of the RABTA app is part of a broader strategy to turn Pakistan into a digital connectivity corridor. It reflects the government’s dedication to adopting modern technologies to improve public services and highlights the potential for digital solutions to make everyday activities more efficient and user-friendly.
