Which OnePlus 12 Color is Good for You?

Choosing the right color for the latest smartphone is a very important decision. The color you choose for the OnePlus 12 not only represents your style and preferences but can also affect how much you like using your device regularly.

Selecting an aesthetically beautiful color increases the chance that you will want to show off and connect with your phone regularly. On the other hand, choosing a color that does not appeal to you might make your phone appear bland.

OnePlus 12 comes with two color options: Silky Black and Flowy Emerald. It was previously a white change marketed only in China but has yet to make its way to other countries. A lot of buyers must choose between black and green.

Black is a safe, neutral choice that goes well with any case. A smooth finish gives it a premium, high-end appearance. Emerald is bolder and more daring, with an eye-catching marbled pattern. This attractive green tone will stand out against specific phone cover colors.

Silky Black

Silky Black is a classic hue that you can never go wrong with. As OnePlus points out, black is a typical color for smartphones, offering the Silky Black version a classic, advanced appearance. A smooth, matte cover reduces fingerprints and smudges, keeping your device looking clean for longer.

The black color highlights the OnePlus 12’s amazing industrial design. The distinctive OnePlus design elements, like the large, premium-feeling camera module, alert slider, and punch-hole front camera, shine out against the gloomy backdrop. The black finish gives a sense of improvement and beauty.

When it comes to phone covers, black is an ideal neutral background for many colors and designs. A bright, vibrant phone case will stand out against a dark background. Alternatively, you can opt for a more hidden clear case to highlight the sleek black finish. In any case, you’ll have many great options to choose from.

The main drawback of black is that it makes fingerprints and smudges more visible than brighter colors. You may need to clean down the device more frequently.

Flowy Emerald

If you want a color that makes more of a statement, Flowy Emerald is a great choice. OnePlus nailed the color on this one – it’s a vibrant green with dark, streaky accents that give it an almost marbled look. The bold yet refined color scheme gives it a very premium appearance.

Emerald is the more adventurous color option that will turn more heads. Especially with how beautifully color is implemented on the OnePlus 12’s camera housing and alert slider. If you want your new phone to be a conversation starter, Emerald is likely the best pick.

That said, Flowy Emerald is still neutral enough that it won’t clash with too many colors. Simple black, grey, and white phone cases will allow the emerald accents to take center stage. But you could also opt for a complementary mint green case for a very cohesive look.

The only real downside of emeralds is that lighter colors like this tend to show fingerprints, smudges, and scratches more easily. So keeping your phone in pristine condition may require a bit more maintenance. But the eye-catching color makes up for it.

Limited Color Options

Unfortunately, OnePlus is limiting buyers to just two color options with the OnePlus 12. More variety would have been nice. But while the color selection is narrow, the performance is anything but.

Featuring the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and up to 16GB of RAM, the OnePlus 12 is an absolute speed demon. It blazes through intense gaming sessions without breaking a sweat while feeling extremely responsive during everyday use. The high refresh rate AMOLED display looks incredibly smooth and vibrant as well.

You also get excellent battery life from a sizable 5,000 mAh cell. Even heavy users can expect a full day of use or more. Super-fast 100W wired charging allows you to recharge from 1-100% in just 25 minutes for when you do need a top-up.

The triple-camera system captures fantastic photos and video in a wide variety of conditions. OxygenOS 13 offers a uniquely clean, almost stock Android software experience with useful customizations sprinkled in.

So while you don’t have a lot of colors to choose from, the OnePlus 12 nails all of the performance fundamentals. Unless you need specific capabilities like high optical zoom or an IP rating, it’s tough to find a better overall package than this at its competitive $700 starting price.

The OnePlus 12 improves on the OnePlus 11 in key areas. While its look remains the same, the phone has a larger 6.82-inch display with an incredible peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip within the phone is more powerful and 10% more power efficient. This is supported by a larger 5,400mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging.
