WhatsApp recently reported its many call-related improvements. Additionally, the Meta-owned messaging network has announced an upcoming WhatsApp feature. With this update, video chats can now be made in PiP mode.
WhatsApp PiP support for video calls on iPhone in 2024
A recent blog post by WhatsApp revealed the arrival of PiP video call features for iOS. It’s been set for release in 2023.
Use the picture-in-picture mode for video calls to multitask with ease. To that aim, multitasking during a WhatsApp call with friends will soon be as simple as tapping a button. The experience will be quite similar to that of watching videos on YouTube within PiP. Meta has been tight-lipped about any other details regarding the improvement. When PiP for video calls is ready to go out, we should find out more.
It was revealed in the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS, version 22.24.0.79, for those who are unaware. Also, we can confirm that we will be participating in beta testing. As soon as this feature becomes available, we will inform you.
WhatsApp has highlighted some of the available calling options. The new waveform style of calls allows you to build Conversation Links and invite individuals to video calls, as well as send messages to or silence participants in the call.
You may now have up to 32 people on a video conference at once, and you’ll receive in-banner notifications whenever someone joins the session. Is the new PiP option for WhatsApp video calls something you’re looking forward to? Leave a comment with your ideas.
