The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has unveiled NADIR, a new biometric system with an accuracy rating of more than 99.5%.
NADIR, which NADRA’s software engineers developed, places Pakistan among the few nations that have a biometrics Automatic Finger Identification System (AFIS).
Tariq Malik, NADRA’s Chairman, made the news on Twitter. According to Chairman NNADRA, this technology has the potential to change the way biometric identification is utilized in civil applications.
According to the Chairman’s statement, NADIR’s accuracy rate has been evaluated and proven to be greater than 99.5% based on the Fingerprint Verification Competition (FVC), an internationally recognized benchmarking event held in Italy.
The development of NADIR is an essential step in strengthening the country’s security infrastructure and providing more secure and dependable identification systems.
The NADRA chairman has expressed confidence in NADIR’s ability to transform Pakistan’s biometric identity landscape. He also praised NADRA’s software developers for their efforts in developing this indigenous technology.
The introduction of NADIR is intended to pave the way for the development of additional similar technologies in the region. This will not only accelerate the country’s technological progress but will also open up new opportunities for the software industry.
The public has reacted positively to the launch of NADIR, as they eagerly expect more reliable and secure identification methods.
