In October 2023, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) introduced a revised tax structure for various models of the iPhone 11. This move came in response to the high demand for iPhones in Pakistan, which has led to increased prices due to heavy taxation imposed by authorities.
Despite the high costs, older generation models like the iPhone 11 continue to be popular among consumers who are unable to acquire the latest Apple devices.
The new PTA tax values differ depending on whether the device is registered with a passport or an ID card. For the iPhone 11, the tax is Rs67,308 with a passport and Rs86,689 with an ID card. The iPhone 11 Pro is taxed at Rs93,180 with a passport and Rs115,148 with an ID card. Lastly, the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a tax of Rs96,860 with a passport and Rs119,196 with an ID card.
