Imran Khan Disqualified, Sentenced to Three Years in Toshakhana Case

Former Prime Minister and Chief of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Imran Khan has been sentenced to three years in prison in the Toshakhana case. The Islamabad District and Sessions Court Judge, Humayun Dilawar, announced the verdict, stating that the criminal case against the former premier had been proven.

Khan has also been disqualified from holding public office for five years and fined 1 Lac Pakistani Rupees. This development comes ahead of the general elections, potentially causing significant shifts in the country’s political dynamics.

The court rejected Khan’s appeal against declaring the case maintainable. The verdict was initially reserved due to Khan’s non-appearance. The disqualification of Khan, one of Pakistan’s most prominent politicians, is expected to have far-reaching implications on the nation’s political scene.

Further details on the case and its potential impact on the upcoming general elections are yet to be released.
