ICC revised ODI World Cup 2023 schedule

The updated schedules for the main event in India are now available, after the qualification of two teams for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 through the qualifier in Zimbabwe.

Sri Lanka and the Netherlands have qualified for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India in 2023.

”Sri Lanka overcame Netherlands in the Qualifier final in Harare and will start their World Cup campaign against South Africa on 7 October at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi,” according to the ICC website. On November 9, they will conclude their Group Stage campaign against New Zealand in Bengaluru.”

”Netherlands, who placed second in the Qualifier in Zimbabwe, will commence the match against Pakistan on October 6 in Hyderabad,” it stated. Scott Edwards’ team will conclude their Group Stage campaign versus tournament hosts India on November 11 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The event will get off on 5 October with a heavyweight battle between defending champions England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. England will meet Pakistan in the last Group Stage match at Kolkata’s amazing Eden Gardens Stadium.

The first semi-final will be held on Wednesday, November 15 in Mumbai, while the second semi-final will be conducted the following day in Kolkata, according to the program. There will be a reserve day for each semi-final.

The final will be held on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, with the reserve day set for November 20.

All three knockout matches will take place during the day.

”There will be a total of ten sites – Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram will host the warm-up matches from 29 September to 3 October,” according to the ICC website.
