How To Hide Your Score On Snapchat

Snapchat separates itself from other social media platforms by the “Snapscore.”

Your Snapscore is calculated by counting the number of snaps you send, how many you get, and the stories you publish, and then taking into account some “secret” factors as the developers explain the process. Your activity on the platform is represented by a number that other users could see. Think it similar to a high score in a game.

While Snapchat does not enable you to completely hide your score, there are a few things you can do to limit who can view it. This guide will show you how to hide your Snapscore on Android and iOS.

How To Hide Your Score On Snapchat

There is presently no way to hide your score in the Snapchat app. Some third-party applications might claim that it is possible with their services, but don’t believe them. Logging into another app with your Snapchat details might result in identity theft or the loss of access to your account.

The following options are available to hide your Snapscore for privacy reasons:

You can limit who can contact you.

Removing/Blocking the individual from whom you want to hide your score.

Please keep in mind that neither of these can completely hide your Snapscore.

How to Limit Who Can Contact You on Snapchat

The process of limiting contact is the same regardless of the operating system on your phone. When you start the application, follow these steps:

  • Tap on the avatar icon in the upper left corner when the app runs and opens the front camera.
  • To enter Settings, tap the gear icon in the top right corner.
  • Scroll down to the “Privacy Controls” section of the menu.
  • Choose the first “Contact Me” option from the list.
  • There will be three options presented to you. Choose the first option, “Friends.”
  • Confirm your choice.

When you set up your profile in this way, only the individuals you allow as friends will be allowed to see your Snapscore. Those who come across your profile will not be able to see any of the information you’ve provided.

How to Remove or Block Someone on Snapchat

Another way to keep your score private is to hide or remove someone you don’t want to see it. Removing someone from your friends list does not prevent them from viewing or visiting your page or stories, but it does prevent them from seeing your Snapscore. To prevent or remove someone, you should then:

  • In the top left corner, tap your avatar icon.
  • Scroll all the way down to the “Friends” section.
  • Tap “My Friends” to see the list.
  • Identify the individual you don’t want to see your score.
  • Holding down on their avatar will give you two options.
  • Tap the “3 Horizontal Dots” button in the upper right corner.
  • Next select “Manage Friendship.”
  • Choose “Block” or “Remove Friend.”

Note that blocking someone is more “important” than removing them. If someone search your username or contact you in any way via app, they won’t be able to see you.

If you are concerned about your Snapscore, you should be aware that removing individuals will reduce it. By removing someone from your friend list, you reduce the number of people with whom you might interact. And, as already mentioned, your Snapscore is based on the number of snaps you send and receive from others.
