Since 2002, 7-Eleven has given out a free small Slurpee drink on July 11: the date that corresponds to the chain’s moniker (7/11). Customers may also enjoy their free small Slurpee at selected 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes outlets on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
Previously known as “7-Eleven Day,” the corporation changed its name to “Slurpee Day” in 2022. Customer comments and the long-standing relationship between the event and the chain’s iconic frozen drink influenced the decision to rename.
The company, which began in 1927 as the Southland Ice firm in Dallas, Texas, experienced a change and was renamed as 7-Eleven in 1946. The name change reflected the businesses’ increased operation hours, which were from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.
7-Eleven is the largest convenience store chain in the United States. There are over 75,000 sites worldwide.
