Eid Al-Adha is approaching, and UAE residents could be looking ahead to a long weekend right before school vacation for a two-month summer vacation.
The duration of the weekend will be determined by the Moon’s appearance, which decides the beginning and conclusion of Islamic calendar months.
The holiday time for Eid Al-Adha in the Islamic calendar spans from 9 to 12 Dhul Hijjah, the dates in the Gregorian calendar might change depending on the Moon sighting.
According to current estimations, the holiday will most likely run from Tuesday, June 27 to Friday, June 30, resulting in a six-day vacation when paired with the regular weekend.
If the Moon is seen on the night of June 18th, Dhul Hijjah will begin on June 19th, leading to a six-day weekend beginning on June 27th. If not seen, Dhul Hijjah will commence on June 20, leading to a five-day weekend beginning on June 28.
The length of the weekend, whether five or six days, will be determined following the moon sighting on June 18.
