Dubai Announces Special Offer for Pakistani Drivers

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has established a program dubbed “Golden Chance,” which allows non-approved nations such as Pakistan, India, and the Philippines to exchange driving licenses without having driving lessons.

Before this program, non-approved nations needed to attend driving training and exams before they could exchange their driving licenses for local ones. Expats from such nations can now do so by passing simply theoretical and road exams.

The recognized nations can simply visit RTA to exchange their licenses. France, Hong Kong, Denmark, Ireland, Canada, the United States, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and others are among them.

Expats from some countries, such as Lithuania and Greece, must surrender their foreign licenses to obtain the Dubai one. Individuals over the age of 18 who are unable to drive can take driving lessons in Dubai at one of the following institutes:

  • Emirates Driving Institute
  • Dubai Driving Center
  • Galadari Motor Driving Center
  • Belhasa Driving Center
  • Al Ahli Driving Center

New Cycling Tunnel in Dubai

In the Al Meydan neighborhood of Dubai, RTA just completed a biking tunnel with a capacity of 800 bikes per hour. The tunnel, which is almost 160 meters long and 6.6 meters wide, is part of RTA’s goal of making Dubai a bicycle-friendly city.

The tunnel allows cyclists to exercise without fear of colliding with other vehicles and provides an uninterrupted channel for their ride.
