Asia Cup 2023: A Look at Tournament Schedule

The much-anticipated Asia Cup 2023 cricket tournament is set to kick off on August 30, according to the official schedule that was recently released online. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), under the leadership of Chairman Zaka Ashraf, is expected to make an official announcement regarding the schedule soon. This year, Pakistan has the honor of hosting the prestigious tournament, which will be conducted under a hybrid model.

The inaugural match of the tournament will see Pakistan face off against Nepal in Multan on August 30. On the same day, Bangladesh will lock horns with Sri Lanka in Kandy, a city located on the island nation of Sri Lanka.

Following these initial matches, there will be a one-day break on September 1. The action will resume with a high-stakes match between arch-rivals Pakistan and India in Kandy on September 2.

The tournament will culminate with the final match scheduled for September 17. This decisive game will be held at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

In other news, the Pakistani rupee has seen a slight recovery against the US dollar in the interbank market after three consecutive sessions of decline. During intra-day trading, the local currency gained 54 paisas in value against the greenback, with forex dealers reporting the dollar currently hovering at Rs282.50.

On a related note, the price of gold in Pakistan is also fluctuating in line with international market trends. As of Wednesday, the price of a single tola of 24-karat gold stands at PKR 224,600. The rate for 10 grams of 24k gold is recorded at PKR 192,560, while 10 grams of 22k gold is being traded for PKR 166,218. A single tola of 22-karat gold is being sold at PKR 193,874. These rates are provided by local gold markets and Sarafa Markets across various cities in Pakistan.
