Ramiz Raja, the former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, stated on Thursday that he will return as a pundit ahead of the next Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The ex-captain of the national team, who is now a well-known pundit, will call the action during the series, which begins later this month.
Raja announced the news on Twitter earlier today.
“‘Camera, Sound, and Action!’ Back in the Pak SL series comm box,” he wrote.
The former opener has been gone from the commentator box since September of 2021 when he was chosen as the PCB’s chairman for a three-year term.
However, after just one year, Raja and other PCB members were ousted from their positions and replaced with a 14-member executive committee led by Najam Sethi.
The first Test of the three-match series between Pak and SL will be played on July 16 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, and the two sides will then travel to Colombo for the second Test from July 24 to 28 at the Singhalese Sports Club.
The last time Pakistan visited Sri Lanka was in July 2022, when the two-match Test series concluded in a 1-1 draw. Pakistan successfully chased down a target of 342 to record the greatest run chase at a cricket field and won the first Test by four wickets. However, the hosts won the second Test by 246 runs to tie the series.
