- WhatsApp is developing threaded replies for group chats.
- The feature shows a reply count on each message.
- Tapping it opens a clean, separate thread view.
- Good for reducing clutter in busy group chats.
- Still in development, coming soon to iOS and Android.
Have you ever found it hard to keep up with messy conversations in a WhatsApp Group with more than 20 people? Good news is ahead. Currently, WhatsApp is developing another threaded replies feature that promises to make group chats much easier to follow.
The upcoming feature was spotted by WABetaInfo in the latest version of WhatsApp iOS beta 25.19.10.80. Similar to Slack or Discord, this option allows you to reply to individual messages in their threads instead of flooding the group chat.
In the early preview, every message bubble in a group chat will have a small counter that shows how many replies it has received. Tap on such a message will open a thread view, where users can easily read all related responses or add their own without disrupting the main conversation.
This is a game changer for busy group chats where multiple conversations occur at the same time, often leading to confusion. Whether you want to respond to an event or many issues, this feature will ensure your reply goes exactly where it belongs.
Threaded replies feature arrives soon after WhatsApp drafts filter, allowing users to find unsent messages easily. These features represent a push by WhatsApp to improve usability and organization in group communication.
Currently, the feature is still under development and not yet available for public beta testing. It has also been observed on iOS and Android beta versions (such as version 2.25.7.7 on Android), indicating, rollout to all users is not too far.
