WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will enable them to share interactive questions on their status updates. Instagram is popular with question stickers, and the feature was reported by WABetaInfo in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.21.8, reflects it.
This update will help the user to add a customizable question sticker to a status update so that the contacts can see the option to reply directly in a response panel. But like Instagram, you can ask only one question to a status. If you need more than one question, you will be required to post new statuses individually.
Answers will be collected in a private list that is visible only by the original poster. In this list, the name of the respondent will appear with their answer. WhatsApp will also enable users to send responses through their statuses while keeping the identity of the respondents anonymous if desired.
The feature will be helpful to businesses, influencers, and regular users alike, and they will find it easier to get feedback, opinions, or even interact with contacts. It is also align with the recent update of WhatsApp to roll out ads in status updates, can provide new opportunities of interaction.
Currently, the question sticker is in development and can only be used by a select number of beta users on Android. No update has been made about its release to iOS versions, but based on WhatsApp’s update history, it should be released to all users in the next few months.
