Telenor Pakistan Partners with Kistpay to Scale Smartphone Financing

Telenor Pakistan has partnered with Kistpay, Pakistan’s top smartphone financing platform, to provide customers with cheap smartphone financing alternatives on an unprecedented scale.

A signing ceremony was held in this regard, with Irfan Wahab Khan, CEO of Telenor Pakistan, Asif Jafri, CEO Kistpay, Julian Gorman, Head of APAC Region GSMA, Saira Faisal, Country Lead, and Jeanette Whyte, Head of Public Policy APAC GSMA all participating virtually to emphasize the significance of this partnership.

The partnership’s centerpiece is the development of Shariah-compliant smartphone payment plans customized exclusively for Telenor’s large customer base in Pakistan.

The cooperation provides an inclusive solution for those in the middle and lower income brackets of society, encouraging smartphone ownership through user-friendly installment-based financing alternatives that adhere to Shariah (interest-free) standards.

Through this first-of-its-kind engagement, the alliance intends to enhance digitalization in the country and empower communities by making the purchase of smartphones accessible and inexpensive.
