Lahore High Court has received the reply of the deputy commissioner’s office on the petition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI seeking permission to conduct a rally on Minar-e-Pakistan on August 14, the independence day.
The lawyer of the Lahore deputy commissioner submitted to the high court that people from all over the country come to Minar-e-Pakistan on August 14 to celebrate Independence Day.
He stated that holding this public gathering on this rather sensitive day might disrupt law and order and that PTI could not be allowed to hold a rally on this day.
The reply was filed when LHC Justice Muzamil Akhtar Shabbir started the petition hearing moved by Akmal Khan.
The reply also provides other reasons for refusing permission to hold a public gathering at Minar e Pakistan.
Before, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon rejected PTI’s permission to conduct a jalsa in the federal capital city.
Will PTI hold the Rally on 14th August?
According to the latest scenario, the PTI has not been permitted to conduct a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on the occasion of Independence Day on 14 August.
