On Sunday, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) issued a verdict on the national medical and Dental (MDCAT) college entry test. The council, chaired by President Dr. Rizwan Taj, met for the second time to discuss several subjects, including the MDCAT and other related concerns.
The MDCAT exam was planned on August 27, 2023, using the same syllabus as the previous year.
The council directed all provincial secretaries to begin MDCAT preparations in the student’s best interests. To maintain the exam’ confidentially, the board promised to include all parties before the test.
Last year, roughly 204,259 students took the exams, while this year’s evaluation estimates that approximately 210,000 students will take the exams. The council emphasized the need of considering the difficulty of the MDCAT exam to help students while retaining the integrity of the merit-based system.
The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) was given responsibility for admissions to all medical and dental institutes under the administration of the armed services. NUMS’s entrance test would be regarded as equal to the national MDCAT.
