Petrol Price Expected to Drop in Pakistan Amidst Global Oil Price Dip

ISLAMABAD, November 14, 2023 – Pakistani motorists may soon receive some relief at the pump as the interim government is poised to reduce petrol prices in response to a downturn in global oil rates. Informed sources have indicated that the price per liter for both petrol and diesel could see a significant reduction of Rs10.

Despite the positive news on the global front, the Pakistani rupee has experienced a depreciation against the US dollar, trading at Rs287 to the greenback after a Rs6 drop in value. This weakening of the currency is attributed to mounting import pressure and could potentially dampen the full impact of the reduced international oil prices for Pakistani consumers.
