Under the government’s policy, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony is still accepting applications for Hajj 2023. For a limited number of places, applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. The application deadline is June 2nd.
It should be noted that the first application deadline has already passed, but this new opportunity has become available. Half of the quota has been set aside for the sponsorship scheme during the Hajj season. This plan is a particular facility for Hajj pilgrims who want to get foreign currency from overseas by opening a dollar account with the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
In terms of current Hajj operations for Pakistani pilgrims, the first flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) left Karachi for Saudi Arabia on 21 May, carrying 328 pilgrims.
For this operation, PIA will use Boeing 777 and Airbus 320 planes to convey around 65,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. Officials from PIA and CAA, as well as Director Hajj Karachi Sajjad Haider and DG Benazir Income Support Programme Imtiaz Shah, were in attendance.
