After it has a lowering trend of prices for several days, the prices of chicken meats in Pakistan especially in Lahore and other markets of Punjab are still increasing.
A few years back, the prices of chicken reduced sharply after people reduced the consumption of chicken during Eidul Adha 2024 when goats, cows and camels were the preferred meats by people.
Likewise, chicken meat prices have also risen in Lahore, Rs18 more to Rs 595 per kg recorded on July 20 than the previous day’s rate of Rs 577 per kg.
According to the INTEREST rates set by govt. of India the rate of 1kg chicken meat has been set at Rs595.
However, the price of eggs has been fixed at Rs.258 per dozen in Lahore and other adjacent areas.
Common people who are suffering from the increase of hikes in utility tariffs and other commodities questioned the increase of rates of chicken in Punjab and urged the government to take action against the mafia.
Also on the domestic front, there has been a Sternum Rise observed in the prices of cooking oil, ghee and Lentils/DA which is parallel to the petrol price hike recently witnessed in the domestic market of India.
