Karachi, November 28, 2023 – Students looking to join Karachi University’s four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) program should mark their calendars for December 3, the official date set for the entrance examination.
The announcement was made by Professor Dr. Saima Akhtar, the Director of Admissions at Karachi University, signaling a crucial step for candidates aiming to secure their academic future at one of the city’s premier institutions.
The entry test is a pivotal moment for students and the university alike, as it determines who will join the ranks of Karachi University’s academic community.
Scheduled to commence at 11 AM and conclude at 12:30 PM, the 90-minute test will be administered across 54 institutions and 23 research institutions affiliated with the university. This year’s test is particularly noteworthy due to the logistical coordination involved in its execution.
The number of students registered for the test has seen a decrease, with approximately 8,500 candidates compared to the previous year’s 11,500.
Dr. Akhtar has attributed this decline to the economic challenges posed by inflation and recent policy changes by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Despite the lower turnout, the importance of the test remains undiminished.
