In Pakistan, an online vehicle verification system has been implemented to protect individuals from potential legal issues that may arise during the car purchasing process. This system is designed to help potential buyers ensure that a car is registered in the name of the original owner and is not stolen.
The verification process can be done through official websites provided by provincial governments, where users can verify a vehicle using its registration number or CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card).
To verify a vehicle, individuals need to visit the respective official website, enter the vehicle’s registration number, and select “Verify”. This service is available for residents of Punjab, Sindh, KP, and Islamabad. However, as of November 1, 2023, the government of Balochistan does not offer online vehicle verification but plans to introduce it shortly.
This online verification system is a significant step towards ensuring transparency and security in the car purchasing process, helping citizens avoid fraudulent activities and legal complications. It also simplifies the process of verifying a vehicle’s authenticity, making it more convenient for citizens.
