TikTok’s Streaks feature is fun, but it’s not available to everyone, and many users have been asking questions about it, from how to get it to how to recover a Streak on TikTok.
TikTok streaks keep you connected with the people you message most. If you send a message to someone for three days in a row, a Streak badge appears in the chat and starts counting the days you’ve kept that message chain going.
The more messages you send on the app daily, the larger this Streak badge grows. If a day passes without a message, the badge will turn grey, indicating that the Streak is at risk.
If this happens, you won’t get a Streak badge in the next 24 hours until you message again. Fortunately, if your Streaks have been active for a while, you can restore them on TikTok.
How to restore your TikTok Streak
TikTok tells you if you’ve gained a new Streak or if an active Streak is about to expire. But restoring a Streak is easy if you do lose one. Here’s how to do it:
- Open the chat where the Streak has been lost.
- Now, tap ‘Restore’ in the message.
- Tap again to confirm.
This feature isn’t offered to all users, doesn’t work for all Streaks, and cannot be used more than 48 hours after the Streak ends. If you can’t see the restore option, time is up.
TikTok also limits the number of restores you can do at a time, so it’s best to stay relatively consistent with messaging if you don’t want to lose your Streak.
If a Streak is restored, it will start from the same number of days you had before it was deleted. Say your Streak ended in the middle of day 10. Restoring it will restore the badge and record that you have been at it for 10 days so that you can continue right where you stopped.
