Google Discover Feed is already one of the most convenient methods for Android users to find self-curated stories with just a simple right swipe. Google is now ready to take personalization a step further by unveiling a new multi-language selection feature.
According to a report from Android Authority, an APK teardown of the Google Beta application (version 16.33.64) found a new Discover feed languages menu hidden within the Settings. This feature is expected to allow users more customization in their content.
The new menu will allow users to select multiple preferred languages instead of being restricted to a single language. Users can add or remove languages at any time, which makes it easier to change preferences according to their preferences.
Currently, Discover has only a Search language option, compatible with only one primary language. Once the new option rolls out, users can set a primary language and secondary regional languages like Hindi, Gujarati, or other local dialects. This will ensure a more diverse range of stories is visible in their feed.
Currently, the feature is not live for any users. Android Authority managed to uncover and interact with it by tweaking the APK’s code. However, when officially launched, this update will improve how users interact with Discover Feed by offering more control over the language options.
