UAE Launches Asia’s Biggest Visa Center in Karachi

In Karachi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has opened Asia’s largest visa facility. It will have 11 counters and will offer consular services in compliance with current international norms.

Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh, also visited the visa facility and was informed of its services. He was told that the facility is permitted to issue work permits.

CM Sindh expressed thanks to the UAE government for creating a “window of employment” in the form of the new immigration facility in Karachi. He also expressed thanks for the opportunity to assist individuals from Sindh and Balochistan in finding work in the UAE through this facility.

Over 1.6 million Pakistani ex-pats live in the UAE, where they work in the public and private sectors and send over $4 billion in remittances each year. The establishment of the visa center strengthens bilateral connections between the two countries.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, one of the largest airlines in the UAE, will shortly begin flights to and from Pakistan, after authorization from the federal government.

Launch of Wizz Air in Pakistan

During a meeting in April of this year, the federal cabinet approved Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s plans to operate in the country.

Similarly, Pakistan has requested permission from the UAE to establish a private airline. However, no progress has been taken regarding this decision, and the name of the private airline has not yet been revealed.
