The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee certified the sighting of the moon for the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah earlier today in an official declaration. In Pakistan, Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, will be observed on Thursday, June 29th.
The Committee, headed by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, met in Islamabad to observe the Dhul-Hijjah crescent moon after sunset.
Eid-ul-Adha is a major religious festival observed by Muslims worldwide. It honors Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of devotion to Allah. Finally, Allah replaced the son with a sheep to represent the significance of faith and obedience.
The festival is celebrated by communal prayers, cattle sacrifice, and meat distribution to the less fortunate. Muslims gather in mosques and public places to pray for Eid, which is followed by feasts and visits to friends and relatives.
Eid-ul-Adha’s religious and cultural significance is enormous for Muslims, generating a sense of solidarity, compassion, and charity. Muslims are looking forward to celebrating Eid-ul-Adha with their loved ones as the country prepares for this auspicious event, while also highlighting the significance of sharing blessings with those in need.
