- WhatsApp adds support for multiple account switching in iOS beta (25.19.10.74).
- Users can toggle between accounts via the Settings menu with no data loss.
- Smart notifications highlight which account received a message.
- Best for dual-SIM and eSIM users, especially on newer iPhones.
- Feature is in beta; public release expected in an upcoming update.
It is going to be much easier to switch between several accounts in WhatsApp. Users have long expected it, and currently, WhatsApp is developing this multi-account switching feature in the latest iOS 25.19.10.74 beta version.
According to WABetaInfo, this feature will enable users to add and switch between multiple WhatsApp accounts without the need to log out of the app or reopen it. Everything will be provided through a dedicated section in the Settings menu.
All the registered accounts will be shown with their profile picture and name, and provide a visual hint to prevent confusion. A user will only need to tap any one of the profiles. They will be moved to that profile, and WhatsApp will autoload:
- Chat history
- Settings
- Notification preferences
- Media auto-download rules
- And backup configurations
The change is smooth, and most importantly, there will be no loss of data in the process.
After its release, users will be able to see confirmation messages at the bottom of the screen every time they change accounts.

Smarter notifications for multi-account users
WhatsApp is also redesigning its notification system to adapt to this new layout. Where a message could arrive in a second account and you have an active chat in another, the app will push a formatted notification that mentions both:
- The sender’s name
- The account that received the message
Even better, a tap on the notification will change into the appropriate account and open the conversation right away. It is a feature that does not make a considerable difference in size, but creates an impact on the user experience, most especially to professionals who are handling multiple accounts of clients.
Best for Dual-SIM and eSIM users
Such multi-account support is valuable for users with dual SIM phones or eSIM capabilities. Multiple phone numbers would be linked with different WhatsApp accounts, and you need not have two phones to use this process, since it has been made possible through this new update without having to use WhatsApp Business as a workaround.
When will multi-account feature launch?
Currently, this feature remains in its beta development and is not available to users. However, since it has made its way to the iOS TestFlight, chances are high that it will roll out in an upcoming stable WhatsApp update.
While no exact date has been confirmed, the feature is in its testing phase, so iPhone users can likely expect a release in the coming months.
