People in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently had a public business-free Muharram 1, meaning the beginning of the Islamic year.
The UAE Cabinet relaxed the requirement that Emirati employees in the private sector and all Gulf country citizens be given a total of 14 public holidays.
The next public holiday will be in June, during the next hol of Rabial Awal, which is dedicated to the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad.
For the year 2013, it is forecasted to be on the fifteenth of September this could shift.
In the future, the people of the UAE will celebrate holidays in December in honor of the Nation’s Day.
