TikTok is the most recent tech firm to begin building an AI-powered chatbot. Tako makes video recommendations depending on user inquiries.
The feature’s screenshots were distributed. If TikTok decides to make it available, the chatbot might have a huge influence on app search and navigation.
This was claimed by Daniel Buchuk of Watchful Technologies, a startup that identifies potential app updates for Fortune 500 organizations.
Buchuk uploaded images of Tako standing atop the TikTok profile symbol next to a video. Tapping Tako brings up a chat window where the bot can answer to various questions. Tako’s precise AI model is yet unclear.
Take a look at this:

Tako will also present recommended prompts to help people start conversations with the bot.
‘If I’m watching culinary videos and ask for a recipe, I’ll receive relevant TikTok videos for the recipe, or if I ask for interesting art exhibitions in Paris, it’ll present films with a list of choices in the answer,’ says Buchuk. Tako suggests ‘What is the importance of King Charles III’s coronation?’ in one screenshot.
TikTok spokesperson Zachary Kizer defined the chatbot as a ‘limited experiment’ and noted that it is not yet available to users in North America or Europe. The corporation verified through Twitter that the test is only going done in the Philippines.
In a statement, he added, “We’re always exploring new technologies that add value to our community.” ‘We’re trying new approaches to power search and discovery on TikTok in certain areas, and we’re excited to hear from our community as we continue to create a safe space that entertains, encourages creativity, and drives culture.’
