Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has increased the prices of all its vehicle models including the popular and previously affordable Suzuki Alto. This price hike is a direct result of the ongoing economic downturn affecting the country. The depreciation of the local currency coupled with import restrictions have collectively led to an overall increase in car prices, making new cars like the entry-level Suzuki Alto unaffordable for many potential buyers.
The latest prices for the Suzuki Alto variants in Pakistan as of July 2023 are as follows:
- Suzuki Alto VX: Rs 2,251,000
- Suzuki Alto VXR: Rs 2,612,000
- Suzuki Alto VXR AGS: Rs 2,799,000
- Suzuki Alto AGS: Rs 2,935,000
Despite the price surge, the Suzuki Alto 2023 continues to be a favorite among urban drivers due to its small and economical design. The car’s compact size makes it ideal for navigating through congested city traffic. The exterior features integrated rear lights into the bumper and combined headlights and turn signals into a single unit. The front grille size remains consistent across all three models. However, colored door mirrors and handles, along with retractable mirrors, are exclusive to the VXL variant.
The interior of the Suzuki Alto, despite being the most affordable locally produced car in Pakistan, is quite appealing. It features a dashboard that combines dark grey and light grey elements, a conveniently positioned automatic gear shift, analog climate control, two cupholders in both the front and back areas, and a console box. The speedometer provides essential information such as fuel average, instant fuel average, distance to end, and fuel indicator.
The Alto VXL variant comes equipped with power windows, retractable mirrors, dual airbags for added safety, and electric power steering, enhancing the overall driving experience.
The Suzuki Alto’s popularity stems from its excellent fuel economy, making it a preferred option for daily commutes and urban travel. Despite the price increase, the Suzuki Alto continues to be one of the top-selling cars in local markets due to its compact size, affordability, and fuel efficiency.
