Sindh Announces Paid Internship Program for University Students

The Interim Government of Sindh has announced a new paid internship program for university students. This initiative aims to provide valuable learning opportunities for 200 students currently enrolled in public sector universities.

The program was unveiled in a recent meeting with officials from the Department of Human Rights. Barrister Omer Soomro, the Caretaker Law Minister, highlighted the program’s key objectives. He stated that the initiative would primarily focus on students pursuing studies in the fields of law and social sciences. The goal is to foster a deeper understanding of these disciplines among the youth.

The internship opportunities will be available to students residing in various divisions, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Sukkur, and Shaheed Benazirabad. A formal proposal for the program’s implementation will soon be presented to the Interim Chief Minister for consideration and approval.

Upon successful selection, participating students will receive a monthly stipend of Rs.25,000 each. This makes the program an attractive prospect for those who are enthusiastic about contributing to the advancement of human rights causes. Furthermore, upon completing their internships, participants will have the opportunity to attend events dedicated to addressing a wide range of critical human rights issues. This additional exposure will serve to enrich their knowledge and deepen their involvement in this crucial field.

This initiative by the Interim Government of Sindh is a commendable effort towards providing practical experience and learning opportunities to the youth of the region. It not only offers financial support but also encourages students to engage deeply with important societal issues, particularly in the fields of law and social sciences.
