Punjab Govt Offers Merit-Scholarships to Minority Students

The Punjab government has created a scholarship scheme for meritorious non-Muslim students. Regular students will be able to pursue their academic ambitions while also constructively contributing to society thanks to the scholarship scheme. Those that are interested in applying should do so by May 12, 2023.

To be eligible, candidates must be Punjab residents, members of minority communities such as Hindu, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, or others, and enrolled in matric through Ph.D. level programs, with a minimum of 40% in their most recent yearly exams.

If they are enrolled in professional-level programs like MBBS, DVM, BDS, BSc (English), BSc (Nursing), Pharm-D, Ph.D., or equivalent, successful candidates will be offered yearly scholarships of Rs. 50,000.

Postgraduate students doing MA, MSc, M.Com, MCS/MBA, M Phil, LLM, or comparable degrees would get Rs. 35,000 per year. Meanwhile, undergraduate students enrolling in BA, BSc, BBA, B.com, or comparable programs would be paid Rs. 30,000 each year.

The application forms may be collected at the Section Officer’s office or downloaded from the Punjab Department of Human Rights and Minority Affairs’ website.

Attested copies of their domicile, passport-size pictures, Computerized National Identity Cards (CNIC) and their father/guardian, educational certificates, and result cards/equivalent must be submitted by applicants. Photocopies of the scholarship advertising from several newspapers are also acceptable.

Furthermore, the heads of the educational institutions where the applicants are currently enrolled have been directed to verify the student’s guardian/parent. A certificate of attestation should be received from the head of their particular religious institution.

The application deadline is approaching quickly, and all qualified non-Muslim students studying in government institutions in Punjab are invited to take advantage of this opportunity.
