Due to severe hot weather conditions and heat waves, the Punjab government has decided to announce early summer holidays for all schools in Lahore and various district schools of the Punjab government.
The early summer holidays will start on May 25, giving many students and faculty members considerable relief. The holiday is confirmed for at least a week until May 31; in this way, all individuals have the opportunity to save their lives from the terrible heat.

Following the message of concerned parents, the government was quick to respond and acted swiftly to ensure children’s well-being given the extreme weather conditions.
As highlighted by Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, students’ health and safety have to be top key priorities. Schools were shut prematurely to prevent potential risks related to the ongoing heatwave.
Except for the schools with examinations scheduled, which must be authorized to complete the remainder of the exam load, students cannot take the exams under this condition.
Last the previous week, “Punjab government finalized a schedule for the summer vacation that will last from June 1 to August 14 for all educational institutions of the province. Schools will be open from 7-11:30 a.m. for four days a week except for Friday”. This provision can prevent students from heat exposure.
