Following the appearance on Geekbench last week of a new Xiaomi phone with model number 23049PCD8G using the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 CPU with 12 GB of RAM, it is likely to be the impending Poco F5.
The news came from the Snapdragon India account on Twitter, which mentioned that the Poco F5 will be the first smartphone in India to use the 7-series chipset, declaring a 50% increase in performance overall, 13% better power efficiency, and twice the AI efficiency of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.
The Poco F5, with its Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 CPU and 12 GB of RAM, shares many features with the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which is only available in China.
It’s probable that the two phones are similar, suggesting that the Poco F5 will likewise sport a 5,000 mAh battery with 67W fast charging and MIUI 14 on top of Android 13. In addition, a 6.67-inch AMOLED display and a 64-megapixel main camera are planned.
The Poco F-series is the most powerful line in the company’s collection. While the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor on the Poco F5 appears to be a step down from the Snapdragon 870 on the Poco F4, it really provides greater battery efficiency and enhanced performance.
