Pakistan Successfully Conducts Test of Ababeel Weapon System

Pakistan has successfully conducted a flight test of the Ababeel Weapon System. The announcement was made by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces, on October 18, 2023.

The Ababeel Weapon System, a missile system developed with the aim of strengthening deterrence and enhancing strategic stability in the region, was put through its paces in a successful flight test.

The test was part of the operationalization of Full Spectrum Deterrence within the broader framework of Credible Minimum Deterrence.

The flight test was not just a demonstration of the weapon’s capabilities but also served to re-validate various design and technical parameters. It provided an opportunity for performance evaluation of different sub-systems of the weapon system, further confirming its readiness and effectiveness.

The event was witnessed by several high-ranking officials including the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza.

Senior officers from the Strategic Plans Division and Strategic Forces Command, as well as scientists and engineers from strategic organizations, were also present to observe the proceedings.

The successful test was met with widespread commendation. The CJCSC lauded the efforts of all those involved in the successful execution of the test. The President, Prime Minister, and Services Chiefs of Pakistan also extended their congratulations to all members of the Strategic Forces on this significant achievement.

This successful test of the Ababeel Weapon System marks a major milestone in Pakistan’s defense capabilities, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
